Nerve Tissue
Nerve tissue is specialized for intercellular communication by the conduction of electrical impulses and release of chemical messages. It is composed of neurons and neuroglial cells.
1. Dendrite    2. Cell Body    3. Axon
Nerve Tissue
Nerve tissue is composed of excitable neurons and supporting neuroglial cells. Neurons communicate via neurotransmitters across the synaptic cleft. The three major portions of the neuron are the dendrite, cell body, and axon. Axons can be extremely long and are insulated by a fatty sheath of myelin.
