Muscle Tissue
Muscle tissue is contractile, meaning it can shorten its length. Muscle cells contain long fibers of the proteins actin and myosin, whose movements produce contraction.

Muscle Tissue
Muscle tissue is contractile, meaning it can shorten to produce movement via actin and myosin fibers. It occurs in three forms: Skeletal (striated and voluntary), Cardiac (striated and involuntary, in the heart), and Smooth (nonstriated and involuntary, lining organs and vessels to regulate the passage of materials).
